Last year my partner and I took a 3 week cross country road trip from NYC to LA, and along the way we discovered that the United States is a lot more vegan-friendly than we had previously realized. From Nashville to Phoenix, stylish vegan friendly hotels and accommodations abound. Below are the places I can’t wait to go back to.

COMFORT & CHARM: Park Lane Guest House | Austin, TX

When in Austin you must stay in one of the cozy solar-powered cottages at Park Lane Guest House. It’s not only one of my favorite vegan friendly hotels, it’s 100% meat-free. Even better, your stay comes with a stellar vegan or vegetarian breakfast prepared by the owner herself, Shakti. If you’re looking for an oasis in the heart of Austin, look no further.

Thanks to @Animoto for making it easy to edit this 🙏🏾 The #vegan food in #Austin was 💯! My favorite meal wasn’t in a restaurant at all though. It was on our quaint patio at #ParkLaneGuesthouse in Travis Heights (which I kept calling Travis Scott 😂). Okay, details:  1. @bouldincreekcafeatx : popular vegetarian restaurant with super tasty food 😜 We came back on our way out of town for take out. Try the Good Livin’ Salad. 2. @casadeluz_atx Macrobiotic ultra-clean food. I’m talkin’ no oil, no processed food, no cane sugar. Pure nourishing goodness!! Oh, 😭no hot sauce either. 3.Park Lane Guesthouse: We stayed here for our first night in town. Shakti, the owner, is a fantastic cook, and you can tell she loves what she does. Park Lane Guesthouse is vegetarian, so vegan-friendly! Tell her I sent you. @parklaneguesthouse 4. @arlostruck : Mmmmmmmmm…. Vegan junk food truck in downtown #ATX . We had the BBQ burger, tatertots 👧🏾, and tacos. All was soooper delicious, but I I’m not used to eating so much junk food, and didn’t feel so hot afterwards 😂 Highly recommend it tho. Especially for the non-vegans who think we only eat lettuce! I’ll be back soon to try out all of your amazing recommendations!!! If you haven’t already, check out my #vegansnacks video on @Youtube. I made it in Austin too ✌🏿#JennéAcrosstheUSA #vegansofig @visitaustintx #visitaustin #veganfoodshare

LUXURY: Mountain Shadows Resort | Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ

Staying at Mountain Shadows Resort was one of the highlights of our time in Arizona. I loved our luxurious suite, the refreshing lap pool, the fabulous gym, and the amazing restaurant. The chef impressed us with amazing multi-course vegan breakfasts that included savory and sweet dishes (like the ratatouille & tofu pictured above), fresh juices, and amazing coffee. We didn’t want to leave the resort because everything was right there!

More from our time in beautiful Phoenix in the video below.

One of our last stops on our cross country road trip was #Phoenix #Arizona ☀ We stayed in the most beautiful and relaxing resort @mountainshadowsaz 🦋Each morning the chef there made us a #vegan breakfast feast!! We really didn’t need to leave the resort but of course we did to visit the @dbgphx and eat at @pomegranatecafephx (We ordered the amazing spaghetti squash & “meatballs” and #vegantacos 🌮 This video is just a snippet of the fun things we got into. DO IT YOURSELF: SoBro Guest House | Nashville, TN

If you like to cook for yourself when traveling (which I do), then stay at the SoBro Guest House when you’re in Nashville. This city has great vegan food options—like Southern V and Sunflower Cafe—but it’s still nice to be able to comfortably prepare your own breakfast and other meals when you’re on the road. Click here for more of my Nashville recommendations. Going west? Click here for my Memphis travel tips.

You can find amazing vegan friendly hotels throughout the United States, and the world. Don’t let the fear of difficulty traveling keep you from becoming vegan, and don’t let it hold you back if you’re already vegan. Make sure to reach out to the hotel before you book and let them know you don’t eat animals. Nowadays they’ll understand and be more than happy to accommodate & even go above and beyond for you.
