Notes
Storage Directions
Refrigeration: Leftover air fryer baked sweet potatoes keep covered in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Freezing: Cool the potatoes to room temperature before transferring them to a freezer-safe container and freezing them for up to 3 months. Defrost overnight in the refrigerator.
Reheating: Warm the potatoes in an air fryer heated to 350°F for 5-10 minutes or in the microwave for 1-minute bursts or until hot.
Recipe Pro-Tips
Pierce the potatoes. As the interior of the potatoes heat, they will let off steam, causing the potatoes to expand. Poke them with around six holes to help the steam vent, preventing them from bursting.
Use oil for tender skin. If you prefer tender rather than crispy skin, coat the potatoes with 1/2 teaspoon of oil before cooking. You can do this with your hands or with a pastry brush.
Preheat if directed. Not all air fryer brands require preheating, but you should do so if the manufacturer recommends it. Doing this ensures an even and thorough cooking process.
Cook until fork-tender. You will know the air fried sweet potatoes are done when you can easily pierce them with a fork. If they are not fork-tender at the end of the directed cooking time, add additional cooking time in 3-5 minute increments until done.
