Storage DirectionsStore leftover sangria in a pitcher with a sealed lid or an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Recipe Pro-Tips
Choose fresh, ripe fruits. Use ripe pineapple and strawberries for the best flavor. Ripe fruits will provide natural sweetness and vibrant flavors to bring the sangria to life!
Let the flavors meld. Allow the sangria to sit in the refrigerator for at least one hour, or ideally overnight, to let the flavors meld together. This significantly enhances the taste; the longer it sits, the better the flavor!
Muddle the fruit if you are in a hurry. If you do not have time to let the sangria rest overnight, use a wooden spoon to lightly mash (muddle) the fruit with the simple syrup and brandy in the pitcher before you add the wine. For best results, it should still rest for at least one hour before serving.
Adjust sweetness. Taste the sangria before serving and add more rose simple syrup for a sweeter flavor or dilute with a splash of soda water for a lighter taste as needed.
Use a pitcher with a lid. Prepare the sangria in a pitcher with a lid or cover the top tightly with plastic wrap when refrigerating to prevent the cocktail from absorbing other odors in the fridge.
Serve cold. Summer sangria recipes are best served cold over ice cubes to keep each cocktail cool and refreshing. You can also freeze leftover pineapple and strawberry chunks and use them as fruity ice cubes that will add flavor as they melt.
Garnish. For a decorative, festive touch, add a slice of pineapple or a strawberry to the rim of each glass. Fresh mint leaves or a sprig of rosemary are also tasty decor that add aromatic complexity.
Scale up for parties. Double or triple this summer sangria recipe with white wine to serve more people for larger gatherings!
