ROCK. YOUR. RADIANCE

I want to see you glow, accomplish, soar, and love passionately! Here on Sweet Potato Soul it has been my goal to share the recipes that help me maintain my health, energy, and radiance. My vegan glow is fed daily with fresh fruits and vegetables, organic and raw produce, and enough sweetness to satisfy my cravings.

I now look at myself in the mirror and I see a young woman who is alive and well! On top of that, I feel like I am passionately living my purpose. But it wasn’t always this way.

There have literally been times when I’ve thought I could not live another day. Clinical depression weighed me down like heavy sacs for years. I self medicated with food and partying, and then I’d punish myself further with self hatred and scorn.

How incredibly lucky was I then to finally find the first glimmers of radiance within myself when trying to trick my food loving self into eating less?

It happened the first semester of my junior year of college. Amidst a rigorous schedule in my conservatory theatre program at Boston University I found myself yearning to express myself in ways I felt I could not in class. I committed myself to designing and producing a line of clothing, Green Peach––my first business––for the school fashion show. I really had no time to do this, so I would take Adderall and chase it down with Red Bull in order to stay up all night long and sew.

When my soul realized that I had found a way to thoroughly abuse myself through that outlet, it yearned for the comforts of home––it yearned for food. Only something was different this time. My brain told me, “don’t eat any more junk, you’ll put on weight”, and yet something deeper within me told me to “eat”. I was hungry, but this time it was for something different. No more Oreos, Pop Tarts, Goldfish crackers, and Coke Zero. I decided to learn to eat healthy. Honestly, the reason I did that was because I didn’t want to gain weight, and I was so desperate to eat and feel the love that comes from food. Now looking back, I believe that deeper wiser voice was telling me to NOURISH myself. To feed my body nutrient dense foods, and give it love for the first time since I was a child.

For the first time in my life I actively pursued vegetables. I had always hated most veggies, and had no clue how to cook them, but my urge to eat healthy overrode my doubts. I had done more extreme things in the past. This one deserved a chance.

Fast forward to today, I literally healed my soul with food.

Yes! Food is extremely powerful. When you put chemical laden, processed, pseudo-food into your body the results can be devastating, if not immediately physically, then psychically. When you put fresh, whole, raw, and blessed foods into your body you have more energy, clarity, joy, and motivation. Then your unique radiance is able to shine through, and life becomes a whole lot more rewarding.

I could go on and on about how I was able to escape the fog of depression and self-hatred simply by eating a healthy plant-based diet, but I’ll save all of that for the free Rock Your Radiance training I have coming up this Thursday evening at 7pm EST. Rock Your Radiance is my new private coaching program, and enrollment is open. I’ll give more details about it on the call. Even if you aren’t interested in coaching, I would love for you to join us tomorrow night.

On the call I’m going to tell you exactly how you can uncover, revitalize, and rock your radiance!

If you have any interest in living your best life then you should be on this call.

    1. Thanks a million!! No, I don’t have any tutorials. I would, however, highly recommend Food Blogger Pro and Tasty Food Photography (both advertised in my sidebar). She really knows how to teach this stuff 😉
